Take a drive on the wildside!

During our last week in Florida we decided to go check out Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. A 35 mile long barrier island. Rich in plants and animals, of which many are endangered. As we drove along we spotted a sign directing us to the Black Point Wildlife Drive. A 7 mile one way drive taking you through the salt and freshwater marshes. Now we have never thought of ourselves as birders, but as we drove along we became more and more enthused, maybe even a little obsessive! It was like a scavenger hunt! Graham hanging out his window and me out mine, we looked like a couple of lunatics! It felt like we were on some reality TV show, Birders gone wild! At one point we were even holding up traffic, as I would jump out of the car to click some photos! Needless to say, we had a hoot! Here are a few photos, please excuse our bird knowledge. Hopefully we have labelled correctly!
