Tavira, day 2!

In a nut shell! Day 2 found us eating croissants and sipping cappuccinos in the morning. Exploring the Tavira Museum, and climbing castle stairs to the tune of a flute player in the afternoon. Munching on sardines for lunch…. Accidentally buying sandals when we happen to stubble across a shoe store! How the heck did that happen?!! I swear those sandals just threw themselves at me!! Wine tasting around 3pm… Again, Portugal has amazing wines! Red, white, and green… yes green! Anyhoo! You get the picture! Tavira is a wonderful city, full of history and charm! Today was fantastic! We had so much fun wandering the streets popping in and out of shops. The locals are warm and friendly, not to mention very forgiving when it comes to our lack of the Portuguese language! Such an amazing country!

Graham is always up for a good photo opportunity!

There are many stories behind the meaning of these hand knockers. One is to protect the home from evil. Others say it is to signify a Muslim home in a non Muslim country. Needless to say they are on many doors across Portugal.
