Cave Creek Regional Park, Arizona

Arrived at Cave Creek on Saturday, and have the park to ourselves! The place is beautiful! Super well maintained, and a nice change of scenery! Saguaro Cacti are everywhere! Every night the sunset is a show all on it's own!

Sunday morning was a symphony of birds! Got up to enjoy a cup of Joe!

Decided to start the day off with a hike. The weather was perfect. The change in the jet stream brought us some cooler weather, about 15 degrees (60 degrees for our American friends). We took on the Clay Mine Trail and the Overton Trail. About 5.5 miles. Amazing scenery! The amount of Saguaro Cacti is endless! Did you know that they can live 150 years, and they don't grow their first side arm until the age of 50 to 75 years! Some never grow them at all. These ones are called spears. Take a look at some of our photos!

Cacti are know to grow anywhere from 40 to 60 feet! How tall do you think the one above is??

Is this not a Muppet face above??!!

After a great day, we wind it down fire side!
