Montezuma Castle

We had an unexpected stop on our way home from Sedona! Our friend Jack in Needles suggested we go check out this castle. Not knowing what to expect, we thought we might see some sort of current day Spanish Castle.. Boy were we wrong! LOL! The castle was built by Southern Sinagua farmers sometime between 1100 and 1300. It is a 5 story 20 room dwelling that occupies a cliff recess 100 feet above the valley. I highly recommend you read up on this impressive historical structure! Here are some photos!
