Dog Heaven!!

Yesterday we also took a wander through Zilker Park. Squirrels everywhere! Mango was a happy dog! The park is 350 acres and was donated by Andrew Jackson Zilker in 1917. It was developed into park land during the great depression. The park is a hub for bikers, runners, and other recreational activities. There are also many musical concerts held here, "Austin City Limits" for one. Some other attractions include a natural spring swimming pool, botanical garden, Lady Bird Lake, a miniature train, and a polo field among many other sport venues. It's quite beautiful, and despite the cold weather was super busy with many runners and bikers... Reminded us of Stanley Park. I had no idea, but Stanley Park is 1001 acres! Impressive!

The walk to the park was far from boring!!

The city of Austin really takes care of their pedestrians and bikers. The bridge below is one of three we encountered! To bad the city of Vancouver can't get it together and make something like this!
